I see the hues of purples, reds and blues
in a heart once consumed with darkness and gloom
The pitch black got ditched kicked to the curb by jerm
‘bout six tracks into ‘The Sickness’ he learned
Its safe to stay and play in shades of grey
Still embracing the darkness, pigment afraid
cause you don’t gotta do shit once you admit
you can live in the depths of a bottomless pit
you just exist, that can be difficult, life’s a gift
but sometimes, you’ve got nothing to give
It’s an addiction you wanna kick, a prison you wanna split
A cliff you wanna visit to view the vista, before you hit
A heart grows sparse left alone in the dark
So I faded to grey took it apart and played with the parts
In that grey place I picked at the black
learned nothing grows there or goes there, this is a trap!
There were no dark thoughts or broken hearts on Noah’s Arc
Metamorphosis occurs when you and your broken heart grow apart
Eventually with age this faded and then decayed
Shades of grey vacated, this is what they became

I radiated 88 full shades of grey
till I satiated the emaciated mind states at play
Colours fade like the morale of the underpaid
Some others they bleed like the backs of a hundred slaves
Now I dip into a Pantone palette of energies and moods
and paint the world with light and love, my centrepiece my muse
I am more than just a storm cloud of blacks and greys and blues
I am the port, I am the lighthouse, the facts, the way, the truth
In a sea of positivity there’s no need to find a boat
so I surround myself with other like-minded butterflies and float
We fill the sky with wonder, wings aflutter, time to go
